Martha is a fintech & payments professional, a social entrepreneur and a philanthropist, who was born in the Kenya. Martha migrated to The Netherlands permanently in 2008. Martha is a dual citizen of The Netherlands & Kenya, but considers herself a world citizen.
Martha is the Founder of European Women Payments Network (EWPN), the 1st and ONLY Pan-European network (community) dedicated to bringing together women from all EU/EEA member states, working in cards, fintech & payments.
In 2018, she Founded African Women in Fintech & Payments (AWFP), the 1st and only Pan-African network dedicated to bringing together women from all African countries working in cards, fintech and payments.
She is also the Founder & Chair to the Board Beyond Innocence Foundation (BIF). Martha personally donated land to the community in Taita, Kenya to build the 1st Safe House & Rescue Center for sexually abused minors aged between 0-16 years. She has continued to personally support the project financially with help from family, friends, colleagues and Rotary Clubs.
Martha is also Founding Board Member for Wadawida Education Fund (WEF), a private fund offering high school scholarships to students coming from poor families in Taita. This private fund was started in 2011 by Martha together with five of her friends and continues to be supported by members through monthly contributions.
Recently, she Founded The Grieving Migrant, an online platform that brings together people going through grief while living away from their families & support network. This online group offers support to expats/migrants.
A dedicated Rotarian, Martha is a member of the Rotary Club Utrecht International (RCUI) and was Club President (2017/2018)
