Vasavi Acharya

Ms. Vasavi Acharya is an early childhood educationist who has been working in the domain of early childhood learning for the past 16 years. She is the Founder/ Managing Director of Inner i Foundation Pvt. Ltd. (IIFPL) the parent Company of the Assam based pre-school brand Tender Petals. Tender Petals preschools have its presence in Assam and the entire North East, with its centres running successfully. IIFPL has other components like Early Childhood Educator’s Training, Tender Day Care, Dream Catchers and Studycomb. “I had initially set up my own pre- school, named Sishubon Preparatory School in the year 2001, after my return from Delhi, with the sole aim to provide quality education to children, in their formative years. After running the school for some years, in 2008, I planned an expansion. I had found that a pre- school needs much more than a regular syllabus, to nurture the little ones. Thus, I finally decided to come up with our own chain of pre-schools, with a unique child friendly curriculum, with a strong belief that ~we can nurture and create beautiful individuals, if we have the Vision, Intention, Perseverance and Enthusiasm towards our Mission. With this belief: Inner i Foundation was incorporated in June 2013.” Vasavi Acharya has been associated with TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) Guwahati as a faculty of Early Child Development and Child Protection courses (B.Voc) offered by them. She has been honoured with the Women Leadership Achievement Award, conferred by World Women Leadership Congress and Awards, at Taj Lands End, Bandra Mumbai on 17 th Feb 2016 for displaying outstanding leadership qualities in the field of Early Childhood Education. The World Women Leadership Congress (WWLC) hosts the annual World Women Leadership Awards to identify and celebrate the outstanding leadership and achievements demonstrated by Women leaders that are reflected by the distinct innovations and initiatives brought by them in various public and private sectors. Besides her involvement with the educational ventures, Vasavi Acharya is the Managing Trustee of the D. N. Acharya Memorial Trust established in 2004.The Trust had successfully completed a project (built a primary school building for the under privileged section) in the Jalukbari area, Guwahati, with aid from Asha for Education, Frankfurt Chapter.It holds the D. N. Acharya Memorial Lecture every year for generating educational and cultural awareness in the society.
In 2014, she founded the Debendra Nath Acharya Foundation, for Child and Women Welfare. The Foundation has done children Carnivals and also campaigns related to child rights, one with collaboration with Assam Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission in 2014. She is a freelance writer and contributes articles and write ups in local english newspapers and magazines on subjects like women empowerment, travel and the likes. She has been involved in editing of magazines and newsletters.
