The Secretary of Los Hispanofilos which is a registered non-profit association that works for the promotion of the Spanish and Hispanic literature and culture in India and the Indian culture and literature in Spain and Latin American countries.Fluent in seven languages including English and Spanish. Has taught English for two decades in a Higher Secondary school in Kolkata, India.
Has translated a number of world classics into Bengali from the trove of Spanish and English literature including the prose-poetry Platero y yo by the Spanish Nobel Laureate Juan Ramon Jimenez. The bilingual version of the mentioned book has been launched at Delhi this June by the director of the Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi, India. Has to her credit books of poems and a narrative written in English, Spanish and Bengali.
