Executive Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd – retired in 2011 after association of 34 years with the company. The company has a turnover of $ 8 billion and its business profile covers power plants (both thermal and hydro), power transmission (both Ultra High Voltage AC and High Voltage DC), Solar Power (PV as well as Concentrated Solar using conventional power plant technologies), oil and gas business, transportation sector etc.
He was a member of the Management Committee – top management team that takes major decisions related to business strategy, capital investments and also monitors important power and industrial projects. She was also a member of the Joint Committee – which engages with the unionized staff on compensation and human relations issues.
He had the responsibility of Risk Management for BHEL as Chairman Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
During his earlier years with the company, he worked in important management positions as Head of Solar and Renewable Energy business(Solar PV power projects, Solar CSP projects and wind energy) Group General Manager (switchyards for power projects as well as UHV substations and HVDC systems), General Manager (ceramic business covering products for power sector boilers and disc and other insulators for transmission projects), Head of bus-ducts business for large thermal power plants, Head of electrical machines (for super-critical and sub-critical thermal power projects and industrial application), Strategic Planning and Project Management of projects (industrial power plants and other major industrial systems).
Prior to joining Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, he worked for 5 years with Larsen and Toubro Ltd, Mumbai as an engineer in the switchgear business dealing with power sector utilities.
