Pamelya Herndon currently serves as Executive Director of the Southwest Women’s Law Center. Pamelya is a graduate of Howard University and the University Texas School of Law. She is a former General Counsel of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department and a former Deputy Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico General Services Department. She is licensed to practice law in the states of New Mexico and Colorado, and she is licensed as a certified public accountant.
Pamelya serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of US Eagle Federal Credit Union where she helped establish the Junior Board of Directors to teach high school and college students how to run a financial institution and how to make sound financial decisions. She also serves as First Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party of Bernalillo County and is a former delegate to the Democratic National Convention. Pamelya has been recognized as 2015 Lawyer of the Year by the Albuquerque Bar Association, as a Woman of Influence by Albuquerque Business First and was recognized in 2017 as one of twelve women to receive the Priceless Award for her work in advancing opportunities for girls and women in New Mexico. Pamelya currently sits as First Vice Chair of the Albuquerque Chapter of the NAACP and Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Rights of Women Committee.
