Meena Vohra

I am a Studio Potter and a Ceramic Artist based in Noida, India. I belong to defence background and started my journey as a studio potter at the age of 50. Today, it’s been over 18 years since I’m practising pottery and enjoying my clay-play. I’m an two time AIFACS awardee. I have had six solo exhibitions and a number of group exhibition, all across India.

I create ceramic wonders, just for sheer joy—that sublime happiness –infusing soul, and bringing them to life. I believe that Pottery is not just an art form; it is a therapy, a meditation indeed. While working in the studio I am very close to God. The very elements which constitute life – earth, fire, water, air and space – amalgamate with clay and take any form that one’s creativity dictates. My work adorns many corporate houses and homes in Delhi.

Teaching pottery is my passion. I offer ongoing courses or create custom courses for my students, based on their individual needs and time. My students come from all walks of life and all age groups. A number of them hold high level jobs. Some, have even left them to start their own pottery studio and have gone on to becoming amazing potters.

In my Heavenly Studio, my aim is to not only teach pottery, but to give my students joyful quality time, where they enjoy the process of creating without bothering about the end result. Lessons of life are shared here. Many of them have said that their approach to life, personality and focus have undergone a transformation by going through this experience.
