Lila Holley is the visionary behind the Camouflaged Sisters brand. This award winning, three-time Amazon #1 bestselling author is also a combat Veteran. Lila is a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Four with multiple deployments to Iraq, the Philippines and Bosnia. She uses her books and real-life lessons learned from her own struggles to help other Service Members maneuver through the emotional battlefield of transitioning from the military.
In her first #1 bestselling book, Battle Buddy: Maneuvering the Battlefield of Transitioning from the Military, Lila chronicles the emotional struggles she encountered during her transition from the Army following her 22-year career. She knows firsthand the challenges Veterans experience during transition, fighting through bouts of depression herself while trying to settle into civilian life. Lila now encourages Transitioning Service Members through her books and offers coaching services to help others manage the strong emotions encountered during transition.
In her second #1 bestselling project, Camouflaged Sisters: Revealing Struggles of the Black Woman’s Military Experience, Lila partnered with 13 Sisters-in-Arms to write the first ever book that chronicles the military experiences of African American Women. The book focuses on Transition, Leadership, Mentorship, Balance and Faith – topics any woman can relate with. This groundbreaking book is the recipient of the IALA (Indie Author Legacy Award) 2016 Trailblazer of the Year award. Camouflaged Sisters is a must read for women currently serving or have served, those considering a career in the military, and those who support these groups of women.
Lila’s third #1 bestselling project, Camouflaged Sisters: Silent No More went number one on Amazon.com Hot New Releases list within hours of being released on Veterans Day 2016. Lila and her 11 coauthors have created a true healing project as they discuss their individual journeys from trauma to triumph. This book focuses on surviving trauma such as military sexual trauma, domestic violence, post-traumatic stress disorder, and depression, as well as self-love and victim advocacy. This book was written for the many Sisters in Arms suffering in silence because of
trauma experienced during their military career, this book to help guide them to their own healing.
