From being a Jew in Turkey to being “one of everyone” in Israel

The journey of a young Jewish girl from an exotic Muslim country looking for her true motherland and for her “real” self and becoming a woman, a mother and a citizen in a Jewish country.
All my youth I wanted to find out why is it so hard to live as a minority with significant cultural differences and why the belonging to a culture and country is so important.
When I came to Israel I wasn’t anymore the Jew who should hide away his identity and fear to get noticed but a human being with certain rights and thoughts.
But the reality of the Jewish country wasn’t as easy as I thought.
The most important question was if it was really necessary to go away from my family and cultural restraints to get to my inner self? Or is it always there and I just had to look inside?
