FAQ’S

1. Does one have to attend the entire conference from the 8-13 May? Will I have open time to explore the beautiful country of India?
It’s not mandatory to attend all days but we do sincerely advise that you do. You will find it completely engaging with over 500 sessions and women from across 150 countries. What you learn at one conference and the networking and connections and bonds you make will last a lifetime. Yes you can explore India before or after the conference. Our travel desk can help out.

2. Do speakers and delegates pay any conference fees?
Yes. Except for speakers who are also invited as Advisory Executive Council (AEC) Members and for whom the conference fee is waived off. For non-AEC speakers, the conference fee USD 250 covering all days of the conference, and for non-speaker delegates, it is USD 350 covering all days of the conference. All have to take care of their own travel and hotel stay expenses.

3. What does the conference fee cover?
The conference fee covers your participation in the entire program and all meals at the conference venue.

4. Do you have day rates for the conference fees?
No. Since for a very large gathering as ours, it’s not possible to micromanage. If you cannot attend for all days, you can nominate someone else to attend in your place. However, you will need to inform us in advance for prior approval.

5. Do we have to complete an additional registration step or are we automatically registered?
While we have your details and bio, we would request you to complete the registration form as it helps us lock in all your data including arrivals and departures flight details, your confirmation of getting a visa etc. at one place. This is used to ensure that you have a smooth trip to India. The form is on website under the registration tab.

6. Do you have a room block set up at the conference hotels and how do we book?
Yes we have nearly blocked most of the rooms at the Pullman-Novotel that house the conference venue. The special rates are given on our website on the Registration tab under Costs. You can book directly with the hotel quoting WEF 17. A booking form will be used and we’ll be happy to send it across on request.

7. Is the conference being held at the Pullman-Novotel hotels?
Yes. The two hotels are just two wings of the same premises and the conference halls are on the ground and lower ground floors. Both hotel elevators take you to both the floors directly. Also, the two hotels are in the same building and both are connected to the conference halls.

8. What airport is the direct landing for the location?
You will be landing at the international terminal of New Delhi airport. The hotels are actually part of the airport complex and thus just 1 mile away, and it takes just a few minutes by car.
Also note that we are not providing any pickup and drop facility you have to take care of your own conveyance.

9. Is there a specific dress code?
At our events, the culture is of celebrating ALL cultures and our uniqueness.
India is an open country and accepts all cultural variations in dress and faiths. However when you are going outside in markets or public places, it’s best to wear dresses that cover you well.

10. Will an interpreter be needed and if so is it provided by the conference?
The entire proceedings and discussions are in English. However we do get some speakers who wish to speak in another language. At that time we do ask for any one of our soul sisters to translate as we do have speakers and delegates from different countries and thus a great talent pool of languages. We do not provide interpreters but those that need continuously can hire services of an interpreter. We can provide the connection through the respective embassy here.

11. Are there any other additional fees outside of our travel and lodging expenses that speakers will have to pay at the conference?
None whatsoever. Except your personal expenses.

12. Do you recommend your speakers prepare power point presentations? If so will the audiovisual be provided by the conference?
There are audio visual available in each of the conference rooms. However we do encourage our speakers to use as little of PowerPoint as possible and speak directly from their heart and share stories and wisdom with eye to eye contact. We have always seen it to be more effective and engaging.

13. How much time does each speaker get to speak at a session?
In the plenary panel (this one is only for AEC members), you have 3-5 minutes to speak. In the parallel session if you are a lead speaker, you have 15 minutes. If you are a sub-speaker, you have 5 minutes. Time limits are firm. When leading a breakfast or lunch roundtable, discussion is informal so you can see best way to engage all on table.

14. How many people attend a parallel session?
There are simultaneous 10 parallel sessions. Typically around 30-50 delegates will attend a parallel session depending on its draw. Many continue to network outside of sessions. That’s why we emphasize on having a appealing title, a good description to get audience curious and interested, and of course the personal and social media outreach before the event plus also your networking during the event to personally invite people to your session. We do out bit to share information of all sessions but we urge and encourage you to proactively promote your particular session in advance.

15. How can we pay for the conference fees?
You can make payment either by cheque or through online transfer .

We do not charge high conference fees, have no sponsors, and membership to ALL is also free. Our movement and mindset is on women enabling women by pooling in our talents, connections and entrepreneurial energy to co-create a a platform that infinitely expands opportunities for ALL of us.
