Empowering teaching and learning through Love Pedagogy at School setting
Nowadays, the high cost of living is forcing both parents to work full time, causing them to be very busy and limit their time
to educate and entertain their children. Thus, they expect teachers and the school institution to fulfil their role but in the end
these teachers or educators are also burdened with workload and cannot give their full attention to every single student at school.
Besides, the education system in in many parts of the world is mostly exam oriented which leads the teachers and parents to focus more towards students’ academic performance alone. As a result teachers and parents tend to neglect and abandon their duty to inculcate love,
affection and care. This is one of the factors that cause social illnesses in the society to escalate every year.
Thus, it is important to instill and inculcate love, care and affection at school settings to provide a conducive learning environment
and motivate students to have interest in their studies as well as nurturing ethics and noble behaviour into them.This can be done
through inculcating “Love and Care Pedagogy” at school setting. Our initial findings suggest that when a teacher implements “love and care pedagogy” in a school setting, the teaching and learning processes will be more engaging to the students. In addition, this pedagogy will win their hearts; thus, promotes better behavior and learning.
