Cristiane Ferraz Prade

Cristiane Ferraz Prade is a Brazilian psychologist with a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from NYU and a specialization in Grief and Bereavement. Cristiane worked in NY at Beth Israel Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital and in São Paulo at Albert Einstein Hospital and Sírio-Libanês Hospital. She works in palliative care since 1998. In 2007, co-founded the first NGO dedicated to palliative care in Brazil. Since then the NGO had more than 400 health care professionals specializing in palliative care, and participating on the Program Chain of Care (professionals granted with a scholarship offer assistance for a patient for free, under supervision) consequently patients and families receiving more adequate care. The organization is also concerned about reducing the risk of Burnout Syndrome, therefore there is a specific program dedicate to increase awareness about self care. Cristiane is the editor of two books about Care for the Caregiver.www.casadocuidar.org.br
