With 20 years working experience Bertha’s leadership skills and business acumen is commendable. An adventurous entrepreneur, she combines entrepreneurial skills, intuition and passion to drive corporate success. With backgrounds in public relations, marketing and communications, business strategy development, business management, business development she brings a wealth of expertise to her clients, delivery teams, executive committees and board of directors. In 2017, Bertha was appointed Manager: Utility Segment, Power Grid Division, South Africa and South Africa, at ABB South Africa. In this role she is responsible for Business Development for the region, spanning 18 countries. In 2006, she founded Rito Consulting Services, an integrated communications consulting company which she successfully ran for seven years. As the CEO, she directed and delivered marketing communication strategies for clients in the public and private sector. Through a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment transaction, Rito Consulting was consolidated into EON Consulting (Pty) Ltd. Bertha joined EON Consulting (Pty) Ltd in 2012 as a partner in the firm, and was appointed Managing Director in 2014. During her tenure at EON, she was responsible for the leadership and management of business operations. She led and facilitated the development of business strategy (Operational, Business Development, Market Position and People Value Proposition) including its execution. She is an astute market development strategist and has successfully pioneered EON’s customer diversification strategy in the energy sector, in the Southern African region. An exceptional stakeholder management strategist, she has successfully delivered integrated utility communication strategies and improved EON’s client’s reputation in the market. In the last 5 years, she has built a reputable track record in delivering solutions for the Energy Sector in the Southern African Region. Her leadership qualities have seen her lead teams of experts in different disciplines, and deliver successful projects in the energy sector in the region. As a strategic Advisor to the Association for Municipal Electricity Utilities – Women in Electricity, she plays a key role in advancing gender mainstreaming in the energy sector in South Africa. In 2007, she was an Executive Director at Xybanetx. In 2005 she was at The Communications Firm (TCF) as the Head of Corporate Communications. Bertha worked for The Micro Finance Regulatory Council as a Senior Communications officer between 1999 and 2002. Thereafter she joined Kagiso TV and Communications as the company’s Marketing and Public Relations manager.
