As an anti-discrimination and gender expert, Dr. Aurora Martin is Senior Advisor in International Relations within the Romanian Government and Parliament on behalf of National Agency for Equal Opportunities, Minister of Labor and Social Justice, and National Council for Combating Discrimination). She also holds the positions – Vice President of the International Institute for Human Security and Associate Professor, “Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University,” Bucharest, Romania. She also serves as Academic Lecturer in Good Governance, Non-Discrimination, Cultural Violence and Conflict Transformation at: Wilmington College, Ohio, USA; Russian Presidential Academy for National Economy and Public Administration, Saint Petersburg; University of Belgrade; University of Rome-RomaTre; Lomonosov Moscow State University; Khazar University, Baku; University of Bucharest and the European Center for Security Studies at George C. Marshall in Germany. Her work at George C. Marshall produced ground-breaking research on the shifting post-cold war standards of UN nation-states on addressing security, R2P, conflict management, and its implications for civil society. Awarded the ‘Woman of the Year 2015’ in Romania for defending and promoting women’s rights, the Woman of the Decade in Security and Conflict Transformation, Annual WEF 2019, New Delhi.
