Anuja Bansal is a Chartered Accountant qualified in 1989. Early in her career she committed herself to social development and has worked for many years for the cause of children and women. Having worked for organisations like CRY Child rights and you, ACCESS Development services, Bharti Foundation, Oxfam India and now SOS Children’s villages she has made significant contributions to social causes. At a time when greater accountability and transparency is demanded of the NGO sector her expertise and work in the areas of strategic planning, building strong governance and compliance systems, sound financial management, has helped strengthen organisational credibility. She has also built competence in the sector by hiring, nurturing and mentoring talent.

Since January 2015 Anuja is heading SOS Children’s Villages of India as its National Director and Secretary General. The organization has 1700 employees with presence in 32 locations in 22 states. Under its two flagship programs Family based care and Family strengthening program over 24000 children at SOS are receiving care, love and protection. Its 12 educational and vocational centres are providing quality education to over 7000 children and young people.

While taking care of physical needs of a child like quality health care, education, housing is important equally important is emotional and social wellbeing of these children. Anuja as head of SOS Children’s villages, India is ensuring that parentless children and children at risk of losing parental care receive this support.

Before joining SOS India, Anuja has worked as Director Operations at Oxfam India. She has also worked as CFO of Bharti Foundation, Program support head-Access Development Services and Finance head-CRY- Child Relief & you.
