Taylor Tucker is a senior at North Carolina A&T State University studying Industrial and Systems Engineering. She delights in connecting major companies and professionals to students through beneficial programming. Events that she has spearheaded included partnerships with IBM, Lenovo, and even a former Senior Vice President for SONY Music. Her desire is to empower as many students of color from impoverished neighborhoods with the scholarship and professional development information (tips, programs, etc.) that she has received. She is currently funneling these resources through her personal website, taylortee.com, where she offers students the opportunity to book time on her calendar to review their essays and give them professional development tips. She is a recipient of the Princeton Prize in Race Relations Certificate of Accomplishment for her work to foster interracial harmony, a Chicago Scholar, a Career Prep Fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow, and as a Gates Millennium Scholar, she has been deemed “A Leader for America’s Future” by the program (the Gates Millennium Scholarship is an award with 10 years of full funding for undergraduate and graduate studies supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation). She is from Chicago, IL, and is no stranger to grit. Generating specialized solutions, specifically those that require technology, energizes her. Several of her favorite quotes are, “Do something everyday that scares you.” “We may suffer many defeats, but we must not be defeated.” and “This life IS a success story!
